On distance and return
This work comes from memories of wide open landscapes I’ve seen while travelling, where the land seems endless and calm at once. I used watercolour and acrylic washes, building the piece slowly in transparent layers. It was created in London, but shaped by time spent in countryside and open valleys abroad. I wanted the painting to feel like looking far away, without needing to arrive.
