I painted this piece while thinking about the stillness that settles in when nothing is expected of you. Using acrylic and soft pastel tones, I wanted to let colour carry the feeling of warmth and closeness rather than detail. It was made in London, in my studio, but drawn from memories of long afternoons spent sitting in gardens and open fields during my travels. This work is about being with someone, without needing words.
